Tru Wuv

Of this be sure, you do not find the happy life, you make it.  Thomas S. Monson

The night he asked...

The engagement pictures...
"This is true love.  You think this happens every day?"  Westley- The Princess Bride

"True love is the greatest thing in the world, except for a nice MLT, mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich when the mutton is nice and lean, and the tomato is ripe."  Miracle Max- The Princess Bride

March 30 Brandi hosted a darling bridal shower for AmberLee Anderson- who was engaged to marry our grandson Josh.  We had the most wonderful "lemon" themed shower and AmberLee was darling and got so many fabulous gift to start off their new life together!   Here's a picture of just our side of the family-

We had flavored lemonades, salad with a lemon vinegrette, lemon bars and....Texas Sheetcake (because both of them served missions in Texas!)

The marriage-
"Mawage. Mawage is wot bwings us together today. Mawage, that blesed awangement, that dweam wifin a dweam. And wuz, tru wuv, will fowow you foweva. So tweasure your wuv."  The Clergyman- Princess Bride

from my Facebook post- Married on April 2, 2021

I remember when I was young and would try and cut out my first Valentines, free-hand. The edges were always out of sync- one side lopsided, the other side ballooned. Love can be that way sometimes. But how much easier, when you fold the paper in two, and cut both sides together. When the core is the same, how beautiful the result.

Yesterday we got to experience the first marriage of one of our grandkids! How I love Josh and am so happy that his bride, AmberLee- has his same beautiful, gentle and spiritual core💕. May they have a lifetime of joy! Josh Williams, we love you so much! You are such an outstanding young man and we welcome AmberLee into our hearts!

Summer's Wedding

Just a few images from another amazing wedding.  This girl is the sister of J. that got married a few weeks ago.  How would you like to do 2 weddings a month apart?!!!

Both weddings were beautiful, wonderful, over-the-top.  As different as the sisters.

I had to put this picture of one of their pictures here since that is Pokie- one of our horses.

I think Summer's wedding dress is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen.  Summer designed it herself.  Really, these pictures do not do it justice.  Double click (or single) on the picture to make it larger.  There is a beautiful, single fold down the front.

I love tru luv.  Love all the happiness at a wedding.

Cowgirl Wedding

You know how I feel about sunflowers so this fabulous cowgirl wedding was right up my alley!  I've loved Jackie since she was a little girl- she would show up to church with orange and blue cowboy boots and a pink shirt and a plaid skirt with a green tutu and pants underneath and hair every which way.  I was so surprised but her mom, Nancy, said "I can't keep fighting with her about clothes!"  I was impressed.  That is also a sign of confidence (since everyone in the family looks a little movie-star-ish)

But of course, Jackie grew up beautiful.  Inside and out.

Of course, OOMS (our own Martha Stewart- Lisa( (and her twinner) did the décor.  Dance floor with the bridal couples initials on it.  The place setting favors were filled with trail mix.

Favorite cupcake holder ever.  I'm gonna have to make me one!

Wedding party doing Miley Cyrus's Hoedown.  Delightful!

Tru Luv- sigh.....

Wedding Party

This past weekend I helped BFF Cathy with food for a wedding celebration at their home for one of her nieces.  It was an informal affair but plenty wonderful.

I made flavored waters and stuffed tortellini salad (recipes on the cooking blog)-

and I'm anxious to get this raspberry jam cookie recipe.
They served pulled pork sandwiches with slaw and chips

and cute fruit skewers with hearts on the bottom.  Or top.  Whichever.....

Italian sodas were a big hit.  They do theirs a little differently than I do mine (I make mine with vanilla ice cream but this looks like a winner) and I loved the fun blackboard instruction sign that daughter Erica did.

Love, love, love parties.  Loved helping Cathy.  Love her family.  Loved being at my old house and yard....sigh......
