Annee Bug

Our Annee is graduating in 1 1/2 weeks.  So proud of this girl, with all her challenges, to get to this point!  We had a great Grandma date yesterday- I took her to get a new dressy dress (It was cream lace and fit her perfectly!) for graduation and shoes and jewelry.  We managed to get a Swig in as well (although we laughed over a new drink place called Spitz)- and caramel apples.  Annee does so much better one on one (that's an Aspergers thing) and I do love our dates together.  Stay tune for her next chapter in the real world~!

Rain and Eggs

Really, we've had so much rain every single day- just cloud bursts!  I kept putting off postponing the Eggstravaganza until the last possible minute and then decided to go ahead.  I'm soooo glad I did.  The sun came out and people came and little kids had fun and the food was yummy.  Feeling loved and blessed and so happy this is over (lol) and hope it is a wonderful memory for all the little people!!!  Mallorie and Sam and kiddos came for two days and we always have fun.

Charm Girl Debbie came from Springville with Pete and Cat and family!

May Ensign- Conference Issue 2019

Wow!  And made Pres. Nelson's marvelous talk!  Love this darling family (minus Rylee and plus London, behind Sadie Jo!)   (Nash, Boston, Tenillie, Travis, Sadie with London)

Books

Trish Morrison will always be a young thing.  A million years ago, when I had teenagers, she had triplets that were about 6 or so.  Trish and I worked in the Young Women's together (Laurels) and I would always try to embarrass her- because she was so dang young, and good- and she blushed easily.  And on top of that, I was her Visiting Teacher.  You know how I feel about that!  So it didn't matter that at some point, she moved away- on May 4th of each year, wherever she lives, she knows I'll track her down and deliver her a new book (or books) for her birthday (because she is an elementary school teacher and now a new grandma!)  I have fun looking for "the" book each year- and truth be told, I usually buy one or two and then one or two more that are cuter and then I end up with lots of books I don't need.

But this year, I outdid myself.  Here's what she got:

There is a hysterical YouTube video of a British grandma reading The Wonky Donkey to her grandchild.  The grandchild could care less about the book but the Grandma laughs throughout which makes you laugh.  Then, Noah, Elijah and Heidi gave me the book for my birthday so we can laugh together.  They all actually do great British accents.  Me, not so much.

Then, in addition, I found THIS book which is HYSTERICAL about Dog's breath.  Soooo funny!  I love, love, love it!!!!!  It's a must have!

I think Trish loved them!!!!!  (and I love her.)

A Peach of a Trip

Woo-woo- we just got back from a wonderful mini-trip (just 5 days) to Georgia with BFF's Cathy and Kirk.  Kirk works in Georgia (he has a corporation that manages hospitals all over) about a week a month- so we were excited to see Swainsboro (his home away from home)- and the nearby Savannah and also Jeykll Island.

I'll try to capture all we experienced:

Southern charm, southern accents, Parkers (it rates high on the list- the Southern version of 7-11- and our much needed restroom stops!), shrimp and grits, shrimp any ol'way, BBQ, wedge salads, Jeykll Island, a beautiful Westin, pool time and pina coladas, the hard sand on the beach (and not so pretty water which is what happens when the river meets the ocean), quaint shops, Cheerwine (my favorite Southern drink- the forerunner of Dr. Pepper), card playing (of course, Progressive Rummy),awesome live music playing everywhere!  more grits (just me- I'm the only one that loves trying them new ways),

 Cheerwine-
This little guy showed up on the 2nd hole of the golf course!!!!  I LOVE his smile!

Cathy getting a Wet Willey in front of Wet Willies'!
Loved all the cool building facades

the Bonaventure Cemetery- cool plots and statuary,

This is the road to Wormsloe Plantation with arched trees as far as the eye can see!

so interesting- I didn't order this but a waffle cone, filled with slaw then shrimp and a yummy drizzle!

A great time with our dearest friends!

In Savannah, the horse and carriage ride tour, bad puns, beautiful historic houses and learning about that era (which is so amazing to us because they are talking 1700's and here in Utah everything is 1800's)., the Pink House, the Pirate House, town squares (usually a park with a monument)  Everywhere you see gnarled live oaks (as opposed to dead oaks?) which I learned was really a variety of oak trees (they did not look like our Utah oaks at all!), Spanish moss dripping over all the trees (not really Spanish and full of chiggers- lol)

The End!
